Welcome to academia.ac.pk. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our website, features, portals, and services (collectively, the "Platform").
By registering an account or using the Platform as an Institute Administrator, Parent, Student, or Visitor, you agree to comply with these Terms.
(a) Institutes (Schools, Colleges, Universities, Academies):
To claim, list, or manage an institutional profile, you must register using an official institutional email address or provide proof of authorization (e.g., regulatory registration certificates, authority letters). You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
(b) Parents & Students:
You may create a user account to bookmark institutes, submit inquiries, review educational entities, or track admission timelines. Accounts must be created using accurate, truthful personal details.
(a) Profile Accuracy:
Institutes must ensure that all uploaded information—including fee schedules, physical addresses, courses offered, affiliation details (e.g., HEC, BISE, PEC, PMDC), and accreditation status—is precise and regularly updated.
(b) Verification & Audit:
Academia.ac.pk reserves the right, but does not assume the obligation, to request physical or digital proof of regulatory registration (e.g., Registration with provincial Education Departments, Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority - PEIRA, etc.) before approving or verifying a profile listing.
(c) Prohibited Content:
Institutes shall not post misleading advertising, fake faculty credentials, or false affiliation claims.
(a) Authentic Feedback:
Users may submit ratings and reviews for institutes. Reviews must be based on genuine, first-hand experiences.
(b) Defamation & Malicious Content:
In accordance with Section 20 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), 2016, users are strictly prohibited from posting defamatory, abusive, culturally insensitive, or threatening content against any institution, faculty member, or student. Malicious campaigns will result in immediate account termination and legal reporting to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cybercrime Wing.
(a) Lead Generation:
Academia.ac.pk operates as an informational directory and facilitator. Any admission application submitted or fee processed through the Platform is routed directly to the respective institute's framework.
(b) Fee Discrepancies:
The Platform does not control or dictate the refund policies of individual schools or universities. All fee disputes, refund claims, or financial discrepancies must be settled directly between the parent/student and the educational institute.
We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate access to any user account or institutional listing, without prior notice, if there is a breach of these Terms, suspected fraudulent activity, or legal non-compliance.
(a) White-Label Hosting:
The Platform offers registered institutes the facility to generate custom websites hosted on subdomains of academia.pk (e.g., institute-name.academia.pk).
(b) Technical Boundaries:
Academia.ac.pk provides the infrastructure, templates, and hosting space. However, the respective institute retains full ownership and operational control over the content displayed on their specific subdomain.
(a) Regulatory Compliance:
Institutes utilizing an academia.pk subdomain must ensure their website strictly complies with the guidelines of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), provincial educational boards, and the
(b) Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).Prohibited Material:
Institutes are strictly prohibited from hosting copyrighted materials without authorization, pirated software, malicious code, or content that violates the cultural, religious, and legal values of Pakistan.
(a) Third-Party Claims:
The institute agrees to protect, defend, and hold harmless academia.ac.pk and academia.pk from any legal claims, lawsuits, or financial damages arising from the content, operations, or mismanagement of their subdomain.
(b) Service Downtime: While we strive for 99.9% server uptime, the platform is not financially liable for any loss of admissions, data, or institutional revenue caused by temporary server outages or technical maintenance on the academia.pk network.
